High Noon
Why is that as a society we know longer question the ever inreasing nature of surveillance on public streets?
Why is it that I, when taking a photo of this camera, have the strange impression that my action has been noted for future reference?
Why is it that I have never been asked whether I want this to happen?
Why is it that as society gets safer with decreasing crime rates more fear is instilled in us through mainstream media?
Why is it that this little contraption causes so much consternation in me?
My privacy erodes...

Becasue we are all voyeurs, but our 'secret' is not a secret anymore but shared knowledge stored in databases and MPEG files; we do not own that private viewing pleasure anymore. Somebody else does.

When “they” installed some new cameras in A'dam “we” knew about it and decided to boycott the inauguration :-) We got together with banners and blankets to cover the cameras, we had false drugs in our pockets (plastic bags with sand), covered our faces with masks, and looked suspicious. The witchy Croatian girl we know was asking people on the street, under the cameras, with a dealers intonation: “Hey? Want sugar? Come here! I have sugar! For coffee!”. And at the inauguration place, where we also had someone filming, the police guy was introducing the new cameras, saying how good they were, and the images showed strange looking people with banners and blankets walking by. Then, one by one, the images went black, as the cameras were covered by the blankets. lol. Of course the police come running like bulls to one of the spots where we covered a camera, and we got in trouble. They looked so astonished when they searched our pockets and asked us “What’s that?” and we said “It’s false drugs!”. We didn’t get arrested.
P.S. None of this is true, I just have a wild imagination…
